Three NHL games on Friday night have elite algorithm projections with edges of at least 9%, according to the Action Network’s betting models.
Effectively, you’ll be receiving at least a 9% discount on all three of these lines with these projections, which target over/unders.
The games are:
- Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Washington Capitals (7 p.m. ET)
- Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET)
- San Jose Sharks vs. Dallas Stars (8:30 p.m. ET)
Over the long run, if you only bet on lines with at least a 9% betting edge, you’re assured to make a profit. In the short term, of course, variance is a constraint.
These betting models are proprietary to the Action Network and factor in injuries, matchups, rest, rotations, travel and every other variable associated with tonight’s games.
3 Elite NHL Algorithm Predictions
The betting algorithm at play targets the totals for all three games.
In particular, it’s all three overs.
The best algorithm edge is with Lightning vs. Capitals at a market-best price of o6 (-110) at Caesars. This bet provides roughly 10% of betting edge.
Essentially, the line is currently at a 10% discount.
For Penguins vs. Maple Leafs, the market-best price on the over is with DraftKings at o6.5 (-110). This line provides a 9.4% discount.
And for Sharks vs. Stars, the most valuable line is with BetRivers at o-6 (-104). That provides a roughly 9% discount.
Another way to think of betting edge — a 9% discount means you can expect to make $9 for every $100 wagered in the long run on similarly mispriced lines.
But while Friday might be an opportunity to cash in, but keep in mind that this is a long-term investment.
The best way to make money through this algorithm is to bet on every game that fits its parameters for the rest of the year.
We’ll continue to write about them.
