Where to Bet on Sports in Rhode Island

On Nov. 26, 2018, Rhode Island became the eighth state to legalize sports betting, following in the footsteps of Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, Mississippi, West Virginia, New Mexico and Pennsylvania. It also marked the first state in New England to offer legal sports betting.

The state legislature approved legal sports betting in June 2018, and Governor Gina Raimondo signed it into law. But it took several months for sportsbooks to actually open.

Rhode Islanders are now able to place bets in person at the the two Twin River Casinos in the state. The first — Twin River Casino in Lincoln — opened on Nov. 26. A week later, Twin River’s second casino in Tiverton went live on Dec. 3.

Rhode Island sports betting is run by the state lottery in partnership with International Game Technology (IGT) and William Hill. For more information, bettors can go to http://www.sportsbetri.com/
