Panthers vs. Jaguars News, Notes: Trevor Lawrence’s Status in Doubt

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson told reporters Tuesday that quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered a sprain AC joint in his right shoulder during Jacksonville’s Week 16 loss to the Buccanneers.

Lawrence left the game late in the third quarter as C.J. Beathard came in to replace him.

“Trevor is progressing, obviously,” Pederson said. “He is a little bit sore, but doing better today than he did yesterday, and, you know, we will see where he is at again tomorrow.”

The Jaguars have now lost four straight games as they struggle to hold onto first place in the AFC South.

Lawrence entered Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay questionable to play with a concussion.

The Jaguars face the Panthers as 7-point favorites in Week 17. Action Network NFL expert Sean Koerner believes Lawrence could move the line four or five points.

The Panthers are the worst team in all of football with a 2-13 record. They are also just 5-9-1 ATS.

The Jaguars have failed to cover the spread in their last four games. The Jags still sit atop the AFC South but have the same record as the Colts and Texans.
