Sharp Action Driving Significant Rams-Raiders Line Movement

Tonight’s Los Angeles Rams-Oakland Raiders (10:20 p.m. ET) game has attracted one-sided public action all summer, and professional bettors decided to join the party early Monday afternoon.

Seventy-three percent of tickets are backing the Rams, indicating that recreational bettors are happily laying the points. Interestingly, sharp bettors jumped on Los Angeles as well, shown through a Steam Move triggered by Sports Insights’ Bet Signals today at 1:08 p.m. ET.

A Steam Move is sudden, uniform line movement across the sports betting market that’s the result of professional bettors getting down on the same side of a game at multiple sportsbooks.

After the line settled in at Rams -4 last week, LA money showed up late Sunday night to push the line up to -4.5.

Steam hit the market at -4.5, driving the line up to the current number of -5.5 at the majority of sportsbooks.

A handful of books, including the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, have already moved to -6, which is significant considering six is the third-most common margin of victory since the NFL moved extra-point attempts back before the 2015 season.

With this in mind, don’t be surprised to see Raiders money finally hit the market should market-setting offshore sportsbooks that accept high-limit wagers also make the move to Rams -6.
