NFL Saturday Picks: Week 17 Touchdown Predictions

Saturday’s NFL slate features Chargers vs. Patriots, Broncos vs. Bengals and Cardinals vs. Rams.

Action PRO touchdown data is higher than the market on one game in particular: Broncos vs. Bengals.

The first of two touchdown edges, and one of the largest of Week 17, is Broncos WR Marvin Mims.

Mims has been the primary returner and is one of the better athletes on the team. He’s taking more of an increased role at wide receiver in his second season alongside Courtland Sutton and fellow Denver rookies Troy Franklin and Devaughn Vele, and Mims’ snap count and production are both buzzing as a result.

The speedy Oklahoma product has at least three grabs in five of the past six games. He’s also the most explosive weapon in Denver’s skill corps, with single-game longs of 37, 37, 53 and 93 in four of the last five.

Consensus odds for Mims to score are +350. Our projection for Mims vs. the Bengals is 0.28 touchdowns per game, which is a solid grab at the price point.

Plus, when we shop for best odds, bet365 is hanging +450 on Mims to increase the edge.

PRO TD Projections Pick: Marvin Mims TD (+450)

The second positive edge is Mims’ teammate, TE Lucas Krull, at +1400.

Krull splits time with Adam Trautman and Nate Adkins, both of whom have hauled in touchdown passes from Bo Nix over the past few weeks. However, Krull is being priced at bet365 like a true longshot, when in reality, he’s been given similar snap shares than his counterparts.

Our prediction for Krull is 0.11 touchdowns per game. Some shops list Krull +550, +850 and +1100 to score at any point, which wouldn’t be good bets based on PRO’s forecast.

However, it’s all a numbers game. Taking a stab on +1400 likely won’t be an easy pick to win, but an advantageous selection stacked up to PRO Projections.
