Mitchell Trubisky Injury Update Finally Moves Bears-Lions Betting Line

As recently as Tuesday, the Chicago Bears were listed as 4-point favorites for their Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Detroit Lions despite news of a shoulder injury for quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Some sportsbooks took Bears-Lions off the board entirely while others, like Pinnacle, adjusted to Bears -3.5.

Then early Wednesday afternoon, reports surfaced that Chicago is more likely to start backup Chase Daniel than Trubisky, providing more clarity for bettors and oddsmakers.

Market-setting sportsbooks quickly reacted by dropping the Bears to -2.5, a significant move considering the value of 3 when betting NFL point spreads. The over/under has also been affected, dipping to a market consensus of 43.5 after opening at 46.5 earlier this week.

As of writing, Bears-Lions betting action remains balanced with 55% of tickets and 51% of dollars wagered on the spread laying the points with Chicago (see live data here).

However, expect steady Lions action to hit the market from now through kickoff.
