Mac Jones is the top streaming option to open the week. He’s my QB12 right now, mainly due to the plus matchup against a Raiders defense that ranks dead last in DVOA against the pass. However, the Patriots top-two RBs and top-two WRs are questionable, so Jones’ rank could change significantly based on the final injury report.

We could see significant snow for the Dolphins/Bills game, which would downgrade Tua Tagovailoa to a low-end QB2 option. For now, I’m projecting this game out as if snow will have a major impact. Josh Allen should be fine since he can just lean on his rushing ability a bit more, but it’s going to be much tougher for Tagovailoa to generate fantasy value. The Dolphins’ implied team total is just 17.5 right now, which is the third lowest of Week 15. Unless the weather report changes (which it can), I’d start making backup plans for QB this week.

2QB/Superflex leagues were injected with a handful of QB options to go dumpster diving with Mitch Trubisky, Brett Rypien, Colt McCoy, Anthony Brown, Desmond Ridder and Baker Mayfield all potentially making starts this week. They are all low-end QB2/3 options.

With so many players dealing with injuries, we could see RB ranks go up/down a ton this week. Luckily we don’t need to set our lineups this early in the week. Since we are now heading into the playoffs, I wanted to use this space to go over the state of the RB position and briefly touch on every backfield heading into Week 15.

Cardinals: James Conner is the clear workhorse back. It doesn’t look like Keaontay Ingram will be able to provide fantasy value unless Conner misses time. He’s still a high-upside stash who would provide RB3/Flex value if Conner were to miss time.

Falcons: Desmond Ridder could be an upgrade for both Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier since the rookie is more likely to check down to his RBs than Marcus Mariota. Patterson is the only one we can trust right now as a high end RB3/Flex.

Ravens: J.K. Dobbins is coming off a massive 15/120/1 rushing game, but he looked pretty hobbled once he got into the open field, almost like he was running with the parking brake still on. Dobbins thrives in positive game scripts, so this week could be a down week for him as the Ravens are three-point road dogs and Anthony Brown will likely be getting the start. Dobbins is more of a RB3/Flex option.

Bills: This backfield is a mess, but if the heavy snow forecast holds, we could see a run-heavy game plan. I’m assuming the Bills would lean on the veteran, Devin Singletary, a bit more in that environment.

Panthers: This has become more of a three-way committee, but D’Onta Foreman is still the lead back in an extreme run-heavy offense. He’s a low end RB2 option in what should be a positive game script against the Steelers.

Bears: David Montgomery will continue to operate as a workhorse back and offer mid-range RB2 value until Khalil Herbert is able to return to action, which could be as soon as next week.

Bengals: I always love to point out that Joe Mixon used to be Samaje Perine’s backup when they were teammates at Oklahoma. The tables have turned, and Perine is strictly Mixon’s backup on the Bengals. Perine will offer solid RB2 value any time Mixon misses action, making him one of the more valuable handcuffs in fantasy.

Browns: Kareem Hunt’s disappointing season continues as he operates as nothing more than Nick Chubb’s change of pace backup. He should not be dropped because he still offers RB1 upside if Chubb were ever misses time.

Cowboys: Tony Pollard now offers high-end RB2 value even when Ezekiel Elliott is active and still props/rushing-attempts”>carries top-five upside if Elliott ever misses time. He was an RB Upside Chart home run this season. Elliott is still able to churn out RB2 value based on the Cowboys leaning heavily on both backs.

Broncos: The revolving door behind Latavius Murray continues as Mike Boone suffered a season ending injury. Marlon Mack is now Murray’s direct backup, and he flashed enough upside on a 66 yard TD catch and run that could warrant him 5-10 touches a game going forward. He looked like he forgot how to run towards the end and nearly tackled himself, but it was nice to see Mack score his first TD since 2019:

Lions: The top Lions RB of Week 14 wasn’t D’Andre Swift or Jamaal Williams, but it was Justin Jackson. This is a backfield that is a headache to project right now but I consider Swift and Williams as high-end RB3/Flex options this week.

Packers: The bye week likely allowed Aaron Jones to get closer to 100% health. He’s a low-end RB1, while Dillon is a RB3/Flex option against the Rams this week.

Texans: With Dameon Pierce ruled out this week, it’s likely going to be a 50/50 committee between Rex Burkhead and Dare Ogunbowale. If I had to choose one right now it would be Ogunbowale, but this is not a situation I would want to be relying on in a must-win situation.

Colts: Jonathan Taylor is a top-five option this week.

JaguarsTravis Etienne hasn’t provided a useful fantasy score since Week 9 and has a tough matchup this week against Dallas. He is still a bet-on-talent, high-end RB2 option.

Chiefs: Jerick McKinnon is coming off a massive 7/112/2 receiving line last week, but a matchup against the Texans sets up better for Isiah Pacheco, who should dominate the early down work again this week. It’s such an easy matchup for RBs that McKinnon can still be viewed as a RB/Flex option in PPR formats, but he will typically thrive in close or trailing game scripts.

Chargers: Austin Ekeler is a top-five option, as always. Joshua Kelley remains his clear backup and handcuff.

Rams: Don’t even get me started on this backfield. I have accepted the fact that Sean McVay is using the rest of this season to simply troll us with Cam Akers being the lead back, randomly using Malcolm Brown as the third-down back out of the blue, and I’m sure a random Ronnie Rivers game is just around the corner. Either way, the goal seems to be preserving Kyren Williams for next season. I would also not be surprised if he unleashes Williams this week (while he’s on everyone’s bench and I’m not betting his player props). Either way, this is a backfield I’m saying far, far away from for now until we can get a better handle on what to expect week to week, and with so few weeks left, it’s unlikely to happen.

Raiders: Josh Jacobs is a top-five or 10 option this week, and I’m still under the impression that Zamir White is his direct backup on early downs and goal-line situations.

Dolphins: Raheem Mostert is clearly the lead back in this two-way committee right now with Jeff Wilson, but that could change at any time. It’s hard to trust Mostert as anything more than a RB3/Flex option, but the potential heavy snow could force the Dolphins to lean on their run game more.

Vikings: Dalvin Cook is a top-five option and Alexander Mattison remains one of the most valuable handcuffs in fantasy. He should not be available in any league that has eight or more managers.

Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson is questionable this week, but he has earned RB1 status regardless of whether Damien Harris is active. If both Stevenson and Harris are ruled out this week, rookies Kevin Harris and Pierre Strong could offer some fantasy value. We already caught a glimpse of their potential usage on Monday Night and one way I would describe it would be Kevin Harris is essentially the “Damien Harris role” as he could see more usage on early down/short yardage work. While Pierre Strong would handle the “Rhamondre Stevenson role” by seeing most of the receiving work, while still rotating in heavily on early downs. I’d lean toward Strong out of the two rookie backs.

Saints: With Mark Ingram expected to miss the next few weeks, Alvin Kamara should operate as a workhorse back and is a low-end RB1 option against the Falcons.

GiantsSaquon Barkley appears to be breaking down to close the season, and he’s more of a dicey RB2 option in a tough matchup this week against the Commanders. Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell would likely split work if Barkley was to miss time, so they aren’t priority backup RB stashes right now.

Jets: Zonovan Knight appears to be running away with the starting role as Michael Carter took a backseat to him in Week 14, despite being healthy. More importantly, the Jets made James Robinson a healthy scratch and Ty Johnson didn’t play a single snap on offense. What looked like a murky three- or four-way RBBC a couple weeks ago, seems to be more of a one man show with Knight and he’s now in RB2 territory heading into Week 15.

Eagles: Miles Sanders has a juicy matchup this week against the Bears, making him a low-end RB1 option. It appears Boston Scott is now his direct backup, but the Eagles have always been tricky when it comes to their RB depth chart. If Sanders was to miss time, Kenneth Gainwell still may be able to offer RB2/3 value, but it’s very unclear how exactly that would shake out right now.

Steelers: Najee Harris should continue to dominate early down work, but Jaylen Warren has been eating into his receiving usage enough to cause concern. Harris has now had a sub 45% routes run rate in three straight games and as a result, hasn’t logged more than two or more receptions over that stretch. He’s more of a TD-dependent RB2 option and considering the Steelers have one of the lower team totals this week (18), his odds of scoring are a bit lower than normal.

Seahawks: It sounds like Kenneth Walker is healthy enough to suit up for Thursday Night Football this week against the 49ers. However, it’s a brutal matchup, which makes him more of a low-end RB2 option.

49ers: Jordan Mason appears to be taking over the Elijah Mitchell role and could see enough work to eventually make his way into RB3/Flex territory. He is the clear RB to stash heading into the playoffs, especially with Christian McCaffrey dealing with a knee injury. Forward-thinking managers should consider that the 49ers face the Raiders in Week 17. If McCaffrey misses that game, Mason could end up being a solid RB2 option and the definition of a “league winner.”

Buccaneers: Rachaad White continues to operate as the lead back for Tampa Bay, but as long as both White and Leonard Fournette are active, this is still a very difficult situation to trust heading into the fantasy playoffs. I consider White as a RB3/Flex option who has a fairly wide range of outcomes. Fournette offers enough receiving usage to be a RB3/Flex option in PPR formats.

Titans: Derrick Henry is a top-three option this week and both of his backups are dealing with injuries, so it’s unclear whether Hassan Haskins or Dontrell Hilliard is the preferred handcuff. It likely doesn’t matter.

Commanders: Both Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson are limited with injuries to begin the week. There’s no reason to believe either back will miss this week, but if you are desperate for a potential Week 15 lotto ticket, Jonathan Williams would be a potential stash in the event either or both RBs miss this week.

DeAndre Hopkins is more of a mid-range WR2 option based on my initial projections this week. He gets a slight downgrade with Colt McCoy under center and also has a tougher matchup against a Broncos defense that ranks third in DVOA against the pass. Rondale Moore could return this week, which will only further eat into Hopkins’ target share. Obviously, you’re starting Hopkins if you have him, but we need to lower expectations for him this week.

Michael Pittman Jr. posted a 2/16/0 dud against the Cowboys in Week 13. He has a much easier matchup against the Vikings this week and should get back on track as a WR2 option.

Drake London could benefit from the Falcons making the QB switch to Desmond Ridder. The Falcons will likely remain a run-heavy team, but Ridder won’t scramble as much as Marcus Mariota, leading to more passing volume overall. I’m willing to trust London as a low-end WR3 option this week, but London could offer WR2 upside in the fantasy playoffs if Ridder ends up being a significant improvement over Mariota.

Gabe Davis has struggled to find consistency with the Bills opting for a more conservative, run-heavy approach on offense. This could all be due to Josh Allen’s elbow injury, erratic throws, and decision making lately, or all of the above. Either way, it’s come at the expense of Davis’ immense upside. That could be curtailed even further this week if the heavy snow forecast ends up being the case. He’s more of a high risk WR4 option this week.

D.J. Chark is coming off a great two-game stretch where he posted 5/98/0 and 6/94/1 receiving lines, but he faces a much tougher test this week against the Jets. He’s more of a WR4 option but always carries a higher ceiling. He would only be worth a dart throw if you’re a pretty big underdog this week. Jameson Williams scored a wide open 41-yard touchdown on his first and only reception as a pro to date. He could see his playing time increase significantly over the coming weeks, and my guess would be that it comes at the expense of Josh Reynolds.

Denzel Mims is likely to get the start for Corey Davis who is currently in the concussion protocol. I would expect him to run a route on 70-75% of dropbacks and if Mike White is able to suit up this week, Mims could be a sneaky play in deeper formats and especially in DFS tournaments.

David Njoku saw an elite 90% routes run rate in Week 14 and cashed in with a solid 7/59/1 receiving line against the Bengals. He will be a top-5-10 option the rest of the way if he can maintain that level of usage.

Evan Engram has been running a route on 80%+ of dropbacks the past 4 games, but he finally cashed in with a massive 11/162/2 game. He’s unlikely to come close to those numbers going forward, but I think we can safely project him for 4.5-5 receptions this week, and with the current TE landscape, that’s more than enough for him to be a top-5-10 option.

Dallas Goedert and Darren Waller could return to action this week. Both TEs could be limited in their return, but it could set them up to be TE1 options for Weeks 16/17.

Chigoziem Okonkwo has posted 4/68/0 and 6/45/1 receiving lines in the past two games. His routes run rate has stabilized in the 55% range, making him more of a TE2 option. However, I think he provides a high enough floor to treat him like a high-end TE2 option. We have yet to see his ceiling, in terms of playing time, so if he were ever to top a 70%+ routes run rate, he could offer top-five upside. His unknown ceiling is what makes me interested in investing in him where I can
