Adams has yet to finish with fewer than five tackles, including Week 2 when he was knocked out of the game with a hamstring injury before halftime. He has established a nice floor in this market.
This should be a plus-matchup for Adams since I’m projecting the Chargers to offer a high number of tackle opportunities.
Last week against the Bears, Justin Herbert was focusing on high-percentage throws and completed nearly 80% of his passes. We could see a similar approach here with shutdown corners Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed.
I expect him to target Keenan Allen over the middle at a higher rate, as well as his TEs and Austin Ekeler. I don’t think Adams will necessarily be covering Keenan Allen 1-on-1 much, but Allen’s route tree could offer Adams a couple more tackle opportunities than usual here.
Plus, whenever Austin Ekeler gets a dump-off, Adams could be the first or second person to attempt a tackle
I’m projecting him closer to seven tackles + assists with about a 68% chance to clear 5.5. As of 2:55 p.m. ET, this prop was also available at bet365.
