How the Chargers Reached the Playoffs
Los Angeles finished the regular season 9-7 ATS, including 7-1 on the road, where the Chargers will begin their playoff run against the Ravens.
The Chargers clinched a berth back in Week 15 with a win over their AFC West rivals, the Chiefs, as 3.5-point underdogs on Thursday Night Football.
How the Ravens Reached the Playoffs
The Ravens are back in the playoffs after missing the postseason the last three seasons despite finishing 9-7 in 2017. Baltimore captured the AFC North title for the third time under John Harbaugh, which is a great sign: The Ravens’ only Super Bowl win under Harbaugh came with a division title back in 2012.
Baltimore finished the regular season 9-7 ATS, but only 4-5 ATS when facing opponents better than .500, which will be the case against the Chargers.
Betting Trends to Know
- The Ravens have covered seven consecutive playoff games by an average margin of 10.5 points under Harbaugh. In all seven, Baltimore had a lower win percentage than its opponent. The Ravens are 9-2 ATS in that spot under Harbaugh, making him the NFL’s most profitable coach in this circumstance since 2003.
- The Chargers will face one of the NFL’s best rushing offenses. The Ravens are averaging more than 140 rushing yards per game this season, second in the NFL. Rivers is 19-10-1 (65.5%) ATS against teams averaging at least 140 rushing yards per game, covering by 4.9 points per game, including 11-2 (84.6%) ATS since 2012, covering by 10.2 points per game.
