The result was in hand from almost the start of the game, as the Chiefs took down the Colts, 31-13, to advance to the AFC Conference Championship.
With Kansas City leading by 18 points in the final two and a half minutes of the game, Andrew Luck and the Colts were driving down the field for a “meaningless” touchdown for most — but not anyone who bet the Colts in the second half or in a teaser this week.
Indianapolis was between a 4- and 5.5-point underdog all week, which would put most bettors with the Colts at +10 to +11.5 on any 6-point teasers and +11 to +12.5 on any 7-point teasers. The Colts were also down, 24-7, at the half, and were -0.5 for the second-half spread — basically, Indy just had to win the second half.
Down, 7-6, in the second half, Luck completed his first four pass attempts to get Indy to the Kansas City 25-yard line with less than a minute left. Luck then flew a pass deep to the right side of the end zone to unsigned free agent receiver Daurice Fountain, who dropped a wide open touchdown.

Even after dropping the pass, a penalty was called on the Chiefs for pass interference which put the Colts on the 11-yard line with more than 30 seconds left.
The next two plays:
Incompletion to Eric Ebron.
Incompletion to Zach Pascal.
Luck then hit Pascal for a 7-yard completion to the Chiefs 4-yard line before the Colts simply let time run out on the game before they could snap it from inside the 5-yard line, ending the game 31-13, Chiefs.
What a brutal beat for Colts bettors!
