Malik Cunningham Injury Shifts Louisville vs. Virginia Betting Odds with Brock Domann Starting Week 6

Louisville star quarterback Malik Cunningham won’t play Saturday against Virginia, our own Brett McMurphy reported.

The Cardinals were 2.5-point betting favorites late Friday night, with a consensus total of 50.5.

With Cunningham out and Brock Domann expected to start under center for Louisville, the line crossed zero at some shops and moved to Virginia -2 (BetRivers), the over/under as low as 48.5 (Caesars).

Cunningham was PFF’s top rusher last year. He posted three consecutive 100-yard games on the ground from weeks 2-4 this season.

Domann, meanwhile, is a JUCO product in his second season with the program. He’s 6-of-15 for 92 yards, with 6.1 yards per pass in limited 2022 action.

Louisville vs. Virginia Odds

Late Friday night, Louisville minus the points was the fourth-most bet spread of any Power 5 game in Action Network’s college football public betting trackers. We logged 78% of the spread tickets on the Cardinals.

Louisville’s taken some lumps so far, but last week was the low point: The Cardinals lost outright as 13.5-point road favorites against an injury-riddled Boston College club.

The Cardinals also dropped their opener at Syracuse as 4.5-point chalk.

Needless to say, Louisville’s struggled to find any consistency since the Scott Satterfield era started in 2019.

And in a space like betting where hitting at 50% will slot you in the red rather quick, Satterfield’s toed the line, going just 21-20-1 against the spread (51.2%) overall.

Louisville vs. Virginia kicks at 12 p.m. ET Saturday.
