With five straight days of Week 1 action in the books, it’s a quick turnaround for bettors to start making college football predictions for Week 1.
And while most recreational bettors stayed focused on Sunday’s LSU vs. USC and Monday’s Boston College vs. Florida State games, sharps have been quietly taking market-moving positions on a handful of Week 2 matchups.
Specifically, No. 4 Texas vs. No. 9 Michigan and South Carolina vs. Kentucky are taking early influxes of action from very respected bettors according to our Action PRO picks, tools and analysis (now available at a 66% discount off the normal monthly price).
Here are the two college football predictions already attracting sharp money heading into Week 2.
Sharps Making 2 College Football Predictions for Week 2
*Odds as of Tuesday morning
Texas vs. Michigan Prediction
Saturday, Sept. 9 | 12 p.m. ET | FOX
The premier game on Saturday’s Week 2 slate is a matchup between No. 4 Texas and No. 9 Michigan.
Live Texas vs. Michigan odds show the Longhorns between 7- and 7.5-point favorites, which is significant considering the importance of getting on and off seven points in college football betting.
Per usual, the wiseguys have thought this through and are basing their action accordingly.
As I just mentioned, Texas currently sits between -7 and -7.5 depending on the sportsbook.
However, the Longhorns were available at -4.5 at FanDuel as recently as Sunday morning before pros pounded the favorites up to (and through) the key number of -7.
With that said, the sharps haven’t touched the -7.5 at this point, showing the importance of not laying the hook off the key number of -7.
As a result, if you plan on tailing this pick, be sure to grab it at bet365, which is still offering Texas at -7 and a vig of -110.
PRO Pick: Texas -7 (-110) — bet365
South Carolina vs. Kentucky Prediction
Saturday, Sept. 9 | 3:30 p.m. ET | ABC
Similar to Texas vs. Michigan above, the sharp side of South Carolina vs. Kentucky is laying the points with the favorite.
Specifically, smart money has come flowing in on the Wildcats, pushing the spread from Kentucky -7 on Sunday to -10, and even to -10.5 at some shops, as of the time of writing.
Action PRO’s betting percentage data is reporting that Kentucky has landed 50% of the tickets thus far, but 71% of real dollars wagered, confirming that it’s lopsided money moving this line.
PRO Pick: Kentucky -10 (-110) — BetMGM
