College Football Odds Week 6: Friday’s 4 Smartest Betting Picks, Including Colorado State vs. Nevada

Is Friday college football fun? Of course.

But is it typically stacked with value? Not particularly, and that’s due to the size of the slate.

Most college football Fridays are just a few games deep, limiting the availability of smart wagering opportunities.

So imagine my surprise when I fired up the Action Network’s college football betting tools and noticed that tonight’s Week 6 slate is absolutely loaded, including PRO Report value signals aligned on all four games.

After nailing that tease, as I often do, here are the sharpest angles for Friday’s college football Week 6 games.

College Football Picks for Week 6

Nebraska vs. Rutgers Pick

7 p.m. ET | FS1

Nebraska vs. Rutgers is a classic case of sharps aligning on one side and forcing a drastic adjustment from oddsmakers.

This game opened as a pick’em, but multiple waves of wiseguy action hitting Nebraska have driven the Huskers up to -3 (click here for live college football odds) as of the time of writing.

PRO Report Pick: Nebraska -3

Houston vs. Memphis Pick

7:30 p.m. ET | ESPN2

Smart money has already moved Houston vs. Memphis odds, and the Action Network’s College Football PRO Projections suggest there’s still plenty of value to be had even after the adjustment.

Pro bettors have knocked Houston down from +3.5 to +2.5, so it’s reasonable to assume that this spread going through 3 also means that it’s too late to join the Cougars party.

However, our college football betting model projects this spread at Houston -1.5, resulting in an 8.9% edge even after the line move that we’ve seen to this point.

PRO Report Pick: Houston +2.5

Colorado State vs. Nevada Pick

10:30 p.m. ET | FS1

Colorado State not only lights up all five of our PRO Report’s value indicators, but it also has two separate historically profitable betting systems on the Rams as well.

So why is Colorado State such an interesting bet on Friday night?

First, our PRO Projections show a 7% edge when we compare the latest spread of +3.5 to our suggested line of +0.5.

Further, the Rams are a match for the Action Network’s Road Streak and Conference Matchup Heavily Bet PRO Systems, which have produced against-the-spread win rates of 62% and 57%, respectively, since 2005.

PRO Report Pick: Colorado State +3.5

UNLV vs. San Jose State Pick

10:30 p.m. ET | CBS Sports Network

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Here’s a college football Friday night matchup that wiseguys are already betting and, despite odds movement, is still offering value.

Sharps have rocketed San Jose State from -4.5 to -6.5 thus far, and even at the latest line, there’s still reason for bettors to consider laying the points with the Spartans.

The Action Network’s College Football PRO Projections show a 6.7% edge at San Jose State -6.5, an edge that will minimized significantly should this spread move to -7 between now and Friday night’s kick off.

PRO Report Pick: San Jose State -6.5
