Each week at Action Network, we monitor the 2024 Heisman race.
Whose Heisman stock is up and whose Heisman stock is dropping?
The odds were shaken up after Week 6, with Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty taking over as the favorite.
Let’s take a look at how the odds have changed for college football’s most coveted individual trophy. These odds are courtesy of BetMGM, but if you’re looking for a full list of odds from various sportsbooks, click here.

Stock Up
[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty” subtext=”Current Odds: +200″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/boise.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
Jeanty wasn’t on the Heisman odds board until Sept. 9. He now has the fourth-highest odds to win the Heisman Trophy. Jeanty is putting up unprecedented numbers through four games. He is averaging over 200 rushing yards per game and over 10 yards per carry.
[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Colorado WR/CB Travis Hunter” subtext=”Current Odds: +300″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/col.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
Travis Hunter’s odds had been on the rise. Now, he’s a legitimate candidate.
Colorado has the second-highest chance to win the Big 12, according to ESPN’s FPI. If Colorado is in the College Football Playoff, it is almost a foregone conclusion that Hunter will win the Heisman.
Stock Down
[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Alabama QB Jalen Milroe” subtext=”Current Odds: +1100″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/bama.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
Milroe has jumped up to the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy after Alabama’s win over Georgia. He followed that up with a loss to Vanderbilt. He fell from +200 to +1100.
[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Texas QB Quinn Ewers” subtext=”Current Odds: +2500″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/tex.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
The favorite just a few weeks ago has seen his odds tumble after he suffered an injury. Ewers hasn’t played since Sept. 14 and simply may not have the numbers to win the Heisman.
[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Ohio State QB Will Howard” subtext=”Current Odds: +8000″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/osu.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
Howard started the season in the second tier of Heisman contenders. The Buckeyes are ranked as the No. 2 team in the nation, but Howard hasn’t put up impressive enough numbers against spotty competition. He could help his campaign with exceptional performances against top competition.
