One of my personal favorite PRO college basketball betting models popped with a team to bet in Vermont vs. Duke on Friday. Or should I say bet against?

A 57%-winning system built around fading certain teams is active with a Duke vs. Vermont spread prediction in the NCAA Tournament. Today’s PRO college basketball system pick is against the spread.

The 13-seeded Catamounts are no slouches. They’ve ripped off 19 of the last 20 outright with a conference title to boot. After accounting for today’s spread, public betting splits, seed numbers and more, here’s which side our expert model supports to back against the spread in Duke vs. Vermont.

Duke vs. Vermont Spread Prediction

Carrying a brand as strong as Duke basketball often comes with the consequences. It’s usually Duke vs. everyone, especially in the tournament.

Duke was upset twice in the first round over a three-year span from 2012-14. Frankly, it’s a dry narrative; Friday’s system pick actually supports Duke against the spread.

Unfortunately for Vermont, bettors and those rooting for the Catamounts to advance, the America East winners from the regular season fall under a 57%-winning system in Action Network PRO labeled “Fade Trendy Underdogs.”

Here, we bet:

  • Favorites in the NCAA Tournament
  • Seeded between 4-16
  • When more tickets are on the underdog

The splits check out: Underdog Vermont is attracting 63% of the tickets against the spread in our public betting trackers at the time of writing.

Although Duke is laying quite a bit of chalk, teams in these spots are historically undervalued to cover the spread. The theory to this college basketball states in PRO:

“When the public loves a popular underdog, value is created on the favorite. We focus on the beginning of the (NCAA Tournament) when public betting is at an all-time high.”
