College Basketball Picks: 3 Small Wednesday Games With Huge Spread Edges

Finding college basketball picks with value has nothing to do with how big or high-profile a game might be.

Sure, savvy picks can come from anywhere, whether that’s a prime-time matchup between two blue-blood programs or a random matchup between two teams that have combined for a grand total of 14 wins that can only be seen on ESPN+.

The latter is exactly what we have on Wednesday with Navy vs. Loyola serving as tonight’s biggest betting model edge. This game is unlikely to drive any sort of attention — or betting hand, for that matter — from recreational bettors, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t value.

Here are the three smartest college basketball picks for Wednesday based on our betting model’s top edges.

Navy vs. Loyola Pick

7 p.m. ET | ESPN+

Navy vs. Loyola tops Action Network’s College Basketball PRO Projections page, and it’s certainly not for popularity.

Remember, data doesn’t understand the team names on the jerseys, nor does it consider how convenient it is to watch a given game. All that matters is value.

And when it comes to Navy vs. Loyola, there appears to be plenty of it.

The Greyhounds are 1.5-point underdogs against the Midshipmen, though our numbers set this spread at Loyola -6. As one can imagine, the difference between the latest odds and our spread results in a stunning 21% edge.

PRO Report Pick: Loyola +1.5

Charlotte vs. Memphis Pick

8 p.m. ET | ESPN+

While the edge for Charlotte vs. Memphis isn’t as large as Navy vs. Loyola above, this 18% edge is nothing to sneeze at either.

Charlotte sits at +5.5 as of the time of writing, though our PRO Projections suggest that the 49ers should actually be short favorites — -1.5 to be exact — resulting in that 18% edge.

PRO Report Pick: Charlotte +5.5

Georgia vs. Vanderbilt Pick

8:30 p.m. ET | SEC Network

The third-largest spread edge of Wednesday’s slate comes from Georgia vs. Vanderbilt, where the Bulldogs sit at a consensus of -1.5.

However, our model projects this line at -6.5, translating to a very notable 16.9% edge as well.

PRO Report Pick: Georgia -1.5
