One of college basketball’s quietest nights just became more interesting as the Big East rolls out some big games.
There are two Big East matchups on the slate for Friday night, and both games are getting sharp action on the spread.
Xavier travels to D.C. to take on Georgetown, and Creighton travels to Milwaukee to clash with Marquette.

Xavier vs. Georgetown

Georgetown, under head coach Patrick Ewing, is off to another rough start.
The Hoyas are 5-6 and have yet to beat a team ranked inside the top 200 on KenPom. They will face their toughest test of the season against a Xavier team that is ranked 30th on KenPom.
The Musketeers are 8-3 under new head coach Sean Miller. That record is actually deceiving because those three losses came against Indiana, Duke and Gonzaga. All three of those teams are ranked 16th or higher on KenPom.

Creighton vs. Marquette

This is the most intriguing matchup on Friday night’s slate.
It’s a clash between two teams that are part of the favorites in the Big East.
Creighton had high expectations leading into the season, but the Blue Jays find themselves on a five-game skid. Granted, all five of those teams are ranked inside the top 100 on KenPom.
Marquette is 8-3 with a couple of big wins over Baylor and Notre Dame.
The spread opened at Marquette -3, and it has stayed around there with some books moving to 3.5.
