saturday nba mlb picks - A detail shot of a 2024 Mexico City Series patch on the jersey of Ryan McMahon #24 of the Colorado Rockies

Saturday NBA & MLB Picks: Celtics vs. Heat, Astros vs. Rockies, More

Boy, do I have a weekend ahead of me.

My wife is off for a girls beach trip, leaving yours truly at home with the monsters for the next couple of days.

Fun!

While I’ll certainly be running around putting out fires (hopefully metaphorically only), this doesn’t mean I have to abandon sports betting, either.

Will I have less time to break down Saturday’s odds board? Clearly.

But with the help of the Action Network’s PRO betting tools, I just ran through Saturday’s smartest betting picks before I’m out the door for soccer, lunch and whatever else #DadLife has in store.

Here are the betting picks I’m locking in for Saturday including a bet for Celtics vs. Heat, the sky-high Astros vs. Rockies over/under and an MLB player prop with a monstrous edge.

Saturday’s Betting Picks

*Odds as of Saturday morning

Ben Brown Over/Under 4.5 Strikeouts

4:10 p.m. ET | NESN

I’m starting off with Brown’s strikeouts prop for this afternoon’s Red Sox vs. Cubs matchup.

As the headline implies, the current over/under is set at 4.5 strikeouts.

However, the Action Network’s PRO player prop projections have Brown slotted at just 0.46 punchouts, which translates to a staggering 51.2% edge.

PRO Pick: Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+105) via DraftKings

Celtics vs. Heat Pick

6 p.m. ET | TNT

The Miami Heat evened their series with the Boston Celtics at one-game apiece, yet are still 9.5-point underdogs back home in South Florida.

However, the smartest pick for Celtics vs. Heat appears to be from the over/under, not the spread.

This total opened at 205.5, but sharps have steamed the under multiple times thus far, driving down the line to a consensus of 202.5.

Steam refers to sudden, uniform line movement across the market that is often the result of bettors with the resources and respect to move odds getting down on the same wager at multiple sportsbooks, all at once.

PRO Pick: Under 202.5 (-110) via FanDuel

Astros vs. Rockies Pick

6:05 p.m. ET | SCHN

This is a fun one.

The Houston Astros will take on the Colorado Rockies in Mexico City, which is known for its high altitude and thin air.

This, in turn, helps hard-hit baseballs fly through the air and can result in higher-scoring games.

In fact, Saturday’s Astros vs. Rockies matchup has a lofty 17-run total as of the time of writing, and yes, the wiseguys are still influencing this number.

For example, oddsmakers posted the total at 16.5 before pro bettors took a position on the over, resulting in a half-run move to the current line of 17.

PRO Pick: Over 17 (-105) via BetMGM
