The Cleveland Cavaliers will put their streak of 12 straight covers on the line on Wednesday night against the Houston Rockets.
The Cavs are an NBA-best 22-5-2 against the spread (ATS) this season. It’s by far the best record in the league, with Golden State next at 18-9-1.
Cleveland has done so on account of its elite defense, which is ranked No. 3 in the league, according to adjusted defense.
The Rockets aren’t too shabby themselves against the spread. They’re tied for sixth in the NBA at 15-11 ATS. But while the market seems to underrate them, the advanced statistics aren’t a big fan. Houston is No. 27 in adjusted offense and No. 23 in adjusted defense.
Houston did rip off a seven-game win streak earlier this month, though.

Rockets vs. Cavaliers Sharp Action, Big Money & Model Projections
The Action Network’s model projections think the Rockets should be closer to 6-point underdogs.
That means there’s roughly 58% value on the line at +9.5, according to that model.
In addition, the wise guys are hammering the Rockets at +9 and +9.5. Meanwhile, the public is backing Cleveland at -9 on account of its cover streak.
While only 40% of individual bets have been made on the Rockets’ spread, 67% of the money is on Houston to cover. That means a minority of bettors are betting big that the Rockets win or lose by fewer than nine points.
With these confluence of factors, fade the public here and back Houston.
