Indiana Pacers vs Philadelphia 76ers NBA Friday Preview
I’m going to keep fading the Sixers‘ veterans based on playing time. Head coach Nick Nurse said he was going to pull back on the minutes for Kelly Oubre and other players, and he’s held true to his word. Oubre has played two games since Nurse made those comments.
On Sunday against Utah, he was capped at 20 minutes. It was the fewest he had played all season. On Wednesday against Toronto, he was limited to 25 minutes. Oubre didn’t play a single minute in the 4th quarter, despite the close game.
Oubre has played 20-29 minutes in 12 games this season. He’s averaged 10 points and 4.5 rebounds in those games. His production has been reliant on playing a boatload of minutes, and there seems to be a clear ceiling to his playing time now.
Philly is banged up, but the Sixers have several young guards on hand to soak up opportunities.
The Pacers are a fine matchup. They’re 16th in defensive rating and 12th in pace over the past 10 games.
The Pacers have done a decent job defending guards and wings this season. It’s been power forwards and centers that have given them problems in terms of scoring and rebounding.
