Max Christie has seen a team-leading 8.9% usage rate bump with Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell off the floor for the Lakers.
The sample size isn’t huge (198 minutes), but it’s enough to take notice. Christie is averaging 3.1 made 3-pointers on 9.1 attempts per 36 minutes in those situations.
He might not reach 36 minutes tonight, but he has a good shot at 30+.
Christie has averaged 31.5 minutes per game in January and 30.7 minutes per game since he permanently entered the starting lineup in early December.
Washington has allowed the most made 3-pointers on the 2nd-most attempts.
Christie has taken 56.8% of his shots from beyond the arc. There’s a solid chance he takes 7+ 3-pointers tonight, which would give him a great opportunity to reach a pair of makes.

Jordan Poole and the entire Wizards team are a complete mess right now, and on the second end of a back-to-back, I expect them to struggle.
The spread is sitting at 8.5 points, and the Wizards have a team total just over 100.
The Lakers are a big pace-down matchup for the Wizards, and even though the Lakers are without Anthony Davis, I expect the Wizards to struggle.
Poole hasn’t been great this month, averaging just 4.7 assists on 9.8 potential assists per game.
Given the pace-down matchup and the chance of a blowout, these odds should be around -150 on the under.

The Lakers take on the Wizards with Anthony Davis sidelined, and several other Lakers still questionable, highlighted by LeBron James.
Max Christie should be in a good spot to have a big evening, as his usage has jumped notably with AD off the court.
Even if James and the other questionables play, RotoGrinders has Christie projected for 12.4 points, thanks in part to the tasty matchup with the worst defense in the NBA.
