NBA Player Props for Thursday, February 27

This line is a bit too low. LaMelo Ball has been decent recently, but he hasn’t been playing a ton of minutes due to massive blowouts.
He should have minutes in the low-to-mid 30s if this game stays close, and the matchup is a good one.
The Mavs have been an above-average matchup for rebounding guards, and they are without a lot of their size at the moment.
LaMelo is a great rebounding guard, and even with a 9-point spread, I think there’s a good chance this game says close.
I have LaMelo projected for 1 rebound over this number, making this a good bet.
Pick: LaMelo Ball Over 4.5 Rebounds (-135)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Yves Missi Over 8.5 Rebounds (-120)” subtext=”Pelicans vs Suns, 9:00 p.m. ET” center=”false” logo1url=”https://images.actionnetwork.com/blog/2023/07/new-orleans-pelicans-logo-updated-2023.png” link1=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/odds/new-orleans-pelicans” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
Yves Missi left early in New Orleans’ final game before the All-Star Break with a knee injury, but didn’t miss any time. He’s averaged 12 rebounds on 20 rebound chances in 3 games coming out of the break.
Olynyk has also crushed on the glass in that stretch (10 rebounds on 16.3 rebound chances). The Pelicans‘ big men have benefited from a stretch of good matchups, and they’ll get another one here.
Phoenix is 25th in rebounding rate and 24th in rebounds allowed per game for the season. They’ve slipped to 27th and 29th in those metrics, respectively, over the past 10 games. Only two teams allow more rebounds per game to centers.
Olynyk’s absence should solidify Missi’s minutes. He hasn’t topped 28 minutes since February 10, but he has a real shot at 30 tonight. In 17 games played 30+ minutes, he’s averaged 12.5 rebounds.
New Orleans had been rolling out a huge lineup with Zion Williamson basically playing small forward, but they’ll likely go with a more typical look without Olynyk.
Jose Alvarado is the most reasonable candidate to join the starting unit, which would push Williamson back to power forward. A guard replacing Olynyk should funnel a few more rebound chances to Missi.
Pick: Yves Missi Over 8.5 Rebounds (-120)
[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Jamal Murray Under 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-110)” subtext=”Nuggets vs Bucks, 8:00 p.m. ET” center=”false” logo1url=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/725847_nba_den_150x150.png” link1=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/odds/denver-nuggets” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
By Kyle Murray
This number is one that might seem low when you look at recent production, but this line offers some nice value considering it sits at -150 on some other books already.
Jamal Murray flopped for us when betting his over on points last game, so I will happily fade him here and hope that he throws up bricks from behind the arc all night against a Bucks team that has allowed the 6th-lowest 3PT% this season.
Pick: Jamal Murray Under 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-125)
