The Mavericks have been rolling of late, going 8-0 straight up (SU) and 7-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight games in which both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving suited up.

Despite being on the second night of a back-to-back, both Doncic and Irving are expected to play against the Kings, who are also on the tail end of a back-to-back. Dallas has been underrated in this spot while Sacramento has been overrated — the Mavs are 8-3 ATS on zero days of rest while the Kings have posted a 4-8 ATS mark.

Both teams should be motivated — both sit at 42-29 in the standings — but the Mavs should have extra motivation after the Kings knocked them off twice in their house earlier in the season. The Mavs should be in better position this time around after adding center Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington, who, along with the emergence of center Dereck Lively II, have shored up Dallas’ defense around its two ball-dominant offensive stars.

Dallas’ defense has really come on, allowing just 107.0 points per game over its last nine after allowing 118.3 prior. And while the Kings’ success at the Golden 1 Center has been well-documented, the market has caught up as Sacramento is 21-13 (62%) SU but just 14-20 (41%) ATS at home this season. The Mavs, meanwhile, are 22-12 (65%) ATS on the road, the second-best mark in the NBA.
