The Denver Nuggets host the Phoenix Suns in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Monday night. Nikola Jokic (50% opening tip win rate) will jump against Deandre Ayton (71% win rate) for the opening tip-off. Jokic has won all four opening tip-offs versus Ayton over the past two seasons. In Game 1, Jokic won the tip due to a rules violation, but Ayton appeared to control the tip. Even the announcers were confused on this ruling.
In the five games between these teams this season, the Nuggets scored first four times. Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Reggie Jackson each cashed first-basket tickets for the Nuggets while Devin Booker cashed a first-basket ticket for the Suns in Game 1 off of a goaltending call.
