The Washington Wizards will face off against the Philadelphia 76ers in the City of Brotherly Love. Washington enters the matchup with a 15-56 record, the worst in the NBA. Fans are hopeful their team will secure the first overall pick and kickstart a rebuild with potential superstar Cooper Flagg. Veteran Jordan Poole leads the Wizards with an average of 20.5 points and 4.5 assists per game.

Meanwhile, the 76ers come into the game with a 23-49 record. No team has been more disappointing in the NBA this season. Philadelphia started the year with high expectations as one of the top teams in the East. However, superstar Joel Embiid has battled injuries for much of the season and Paul George has struggled in his first year with the Sixers. Tyrese Maxey leads Philadelphia with 26.3 points and 6.1 assists per game, although he hasn’t played since March 3rd.

At 29 years old, Guerschon Yabusele has been one of the few bright spots for the 76ers this season. With all the injuries plaguing the 76ers, Yabusele has seen an expanded role. Tonight, he’s expected to play over 30 minutes and will be in a prime position to exceed 11.5 points against the NBA’s worst defensive team. Our Action Pro Report projects him to score 14.1 points tonight.

The Lakers face off against the Indiana Pacers in what should be a pretty competitive contest between playoff teams.

One player who has excelled in this matchup is Luka Doncic. In three games over the past two seasons, Doncic has scored 33, 39 and 34 points against Indiana. All of those games were when he was with the Dallas Mavericks. However, one thing remains the same: Indiana tends to stay home and play single coverage while refusing to over-help on the defensive side of the ball.

Doncic is someone you can’t do that with. If you do, he is going to score at every level.

Although Doncic’s scoring started off a little slow with LeBron James in the mix, it has picked up in recent games. Doncic has scored 30+ points in five consecutive games and in six of seven, with the one miss being 29 points.

Couple this recent success with the matchup — the Pacers play at the fifth-fastest pace in the league — and this is a spot that sets up for points.

I’ll back Doncic on Wednesday night.

The Lakers’ offensive efficiency sees a noticeable spike when playing with both LeBron James and Luka Doncic. Now, the Lakers head on the road to Indiana to take on the most appropriately named team in the league, the Pacers.

Indiana will increase the tempo and the number of possessions in this game. We also have opposing playstyles that suit the offenses. The Lakers allow 3-point attempts while protecting the paint, whereas the Pacers space the floor.

On the flip side, the Pacers excel at defending the 3, but the Lakers will hunt mismatches and run a heavy pick-and-roll offense. Take the over, as this game is set up to be a shootout and is a must-watch.

We have seen 11 straight double-doubles from Tyrese Haliburton. Eleven.

The case for the streak continuing is that the Lakers’ point-of-attack defense is a vulnerability, as we’ve seen with players like Franz Wagner, Coby White, Josh Giddey and others recently succeeding against Los Angeles.

Both teams are expected to be at full strength, which bodes well for Haliburton in terms of potential assists — an important factor since he has scored 10+ points in every game since February 4th.

Jalen Brunson remains out for the Knicks, but they seem to have adjusted to his absence, at least in the past two games, scoring 122 and 128 points against the Wizards and Mavericks, respectively.

The Dallas win last night was especially gratifying, as both Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart posted triple-doubles. That was historic for New York, the first time in franchise history that two players achieved the feat in the same game.

Meanwhile, as long as James Harden is good to go after appearing on the injury report (foot, though he hasn’t missed time recently), the Clippers are at full strength. Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard are finally on the court together and the Clippers had scored 119 or more points in six straight games before facing the Thunder on Sunday. It’s hard to find a good time to bet against the Celtics, who visit the desert tonight on a six-game win streak.

However, this clash against the Suns might catch Boston a bit vulnerable, especially if Jayson Tatum (listed as doubtful) can’t play after spraining his ankle in Sacramento on Monday.

It would make little sense for Tatum to play, particularly with no real motivation for Boston, which is almost certainly locked into the second seed in the East.

That’s not the case for Phoenix, though. The Suns are in a fierce battle to secure a spot in the West’s play-in round. As of now, the Suns are in after their win over the Bucks on Monday, their fourth straight victory.

The Cavs and Bucks have both been defeated during this flawless homestand, with Kevin Durant scoring a solid 40 points per game across those two wins as the playoff push continues. Play the Suns.
