This Oklahoma City Thunder defense is not going to look anything like Phoenix’s did when Jokic put up the league’s first 30-20-20 game in history.
The Thunder rank first in defensive rating by a wide margin and hold opponents to the second-fewest points per game on the lowest field goal percentage and 3-point percentage in the league.
If you’re reading this, you probably already know how dominant OKC has been on that end of the floor. But the Thunder also have two bigs who can actually deter Jokic (as much as can be) from shooting the ball.
Isaiah Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren are disruptive with their length and athleticism. They will press up on Jokic at the 3-point line and be physical when he’s posting up in the paint.
Jokic has failed to score 27 or more points in four consecutive games, including two matchups against OKC this season.
Pick: Nikola Jokic Under 26.5 Points (-105)

The Mavericks face off against the Suns in a game that could determine their chances of making the Play-In.
Without Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, the Mavericks have turned to Naji Marshall.
Marshall has been absurd these last two games with a Usage rate of nearly 30% and he’s racked up 33 and 46 Points + Rebounds (PR) against the Bucks and the Grizzlies, two fairly strong teams.
There simply is no one else on Dallas that can take the reins. Marshall is getting volume by necessity, and the Suns have the fourth-worst Adjusted Defensive Rating in the NBA, per Dunks and Threes.
So he should have plenty of chances to score. Plus, they are bottom-10 in Rebounding %, per NBA Advanced Stats. I’ll back Marshall on Sunday afternoon.
Pick: Naji Marshall Over 25.5 Points + Rebounds (-110)

We all know Anthony Edwards has no problem jacking up three-pointers all game long.
However, following the return of Donte DiVincenzo and Julius Randle to the Timberwolves‘ lineup, his volume has been much more inconsistent, and as a result, he has gone under this number in 4 of his last 6 outings.
Edwards projects for right around 3.6 three-pointers tonight, so there is some value here at -105. Tonight’s game against the Spurs also has a 10.5-point spread, so we could see Edwards lose out on some playing time in a blowout as well.
Pick: Anthony Edwards Under 3.5 Three-Pointers Made (-105)

The Kings face off against the Clippers on Sunday in a fairly important game for Western Conference seeding.
Sacramento has two key injuries with both Domantas Sabonis and Malik Monk out for this game. Without them, DeRozan tends to see an uptick in both his rebounding and his facilitating.
In the Kings‘ last two games without them, DeRozan recorded 11 and 16 Rebounds + Assists (RA) with 6 and 9 rebounds and 5 and 7 assists.
Those were his only two games without Sabonis this season, but in seven total games without Monk, he’s recorded at least 8 RA in all of them with over 8.5 in 5/7.
This could be a tougher spot for him to score with Kawhi Leonard opposite him and I expect DeRozan to dime. Without Sabonis, there are plenty of extra rebounds to go around. I’ll back DeRozan to exceed 8.5 RA tonight.
Pick: DeMar DeRozan Over 8.5 Rebounds + Assists (-136)

The Pistons might have dropped back-to-back games in Inglewood and San Francisco, but we hardly see this as a sell-signal for a team that had won 10 of 11 prior to that.
Detroit also kept things competitive in those losses to the Clippers and Warriors down to the last minute, and Cade Cunningham has hit overdrive, scoring at 34 points per game pace in those combative losses.
This matchup might suit the Pistons a bit better, as they already beat the Blazers once this season on January 6 when Cunningham scored 32, and Portland will have a hard time shooting better than the 53.3% from the floor that wasn’t good enough that night.
We have been mostly positive on Portland lately, especially Anfernee Simons, who scored 36 in the first meeting, but falling well short vs. an effective reserve OKC side on Friday might is hardly assuring.
Plus, this is the first night back at the Moda Center in more than two weeks. I’ll lay the short number with Detroit.
Pick: Pistons -3 (-110)

It doesn’t seem like the Kings have missed De’Aaron Fox all that much, with Zach LaVine effectively taking his place in the lineup and scoring nearly 24 points per game since.
The Kings also don’t seem to be missing Domantas Sabonis, who has been out for the past week with a hamstring strain, with Sacramento sitting 3-1 SU / 4-0 ATS since Sabonis’ injury, part of a current 6-0 uptick against the line.
DeMar DeRozan is also scoring at a 24 points per game clip the past month. Overall, it’s an 8-3 uptick for the Kings since early February as they lurk just a game out (in the loss column) from avoiding the West play-in round.
Meanwhile, the Clippers caught a break on Friday as the Knicks didn’t have Jalen Brunson available in a 1045-95 win for LA, and the Clips are still only 3-6 SU since the All-Star break.
This is a much different Sacramento squad than they were the last time these teams met. Play Kings.
Pick: Kings +6 (-110)
