The first game of the evening in the association comes between the Clippers and the Cavaliers, two teams looking to improve their playoff seeding as the postseason nears.
Los Angeles sits in the eighth position in the conference, but it has a bit of space before the Lakers, who slot in at ninth but 5.5 games behind. The Clippers are 3.5 games short of the Timberwolves and five games short of the Nuggets and the coveted sixth position to avoid the play-in tournament.
The Cavaliers are in that sixth spot, granting them direct entry into the playoffs without having to play a play-in game, but they’re just a game ahead of the Raptors with 15 games to play.
LA picked up an important win against the Pistons last night, notching a 106-102 victory away from home. The Cavs are coming off of a 10-point loss to the Bulls on Saturday.
