Nets vs. Cavaliers Picks, Prediction
Spread
The Nets have played well of late without top-scorer Cam Thomas, a run highlighted by Monday night’s win over the Lakers. We’ll take the 18 points here and bet on the ‘dog.
Over/Under
Since our expert is on the underdog and part of the reasoning is that team is without its top scorer, it makes sense to be on the under, as well.
Player Prop
We’re targeting a Donovan Mitchell under tonight for Nets-Cavs.

Hoops dynamics can intrigue, especially when teams seem to play better without their top scorers.
Meet the Nets, whose results suggest they’re perhaps better without Cam Thomas — or, perhaps more accurately, better off without a ball-dominant scorer.
After losing the first five games since the return of Thomas, the Nets won without him last night against the Lakers. Los Angeles was also shorthanded without LeBron James and others, but it was a marked improvement over recent form for Brooklyn, which will likely be without Thomas (hamstring) again tonight in Cleveland.
The Nets had won seven of their previous 11 games without Thomas and have played the Cavs fairly tough this season, covering two of three. After winning 14 straight, might this be a flat spot for Cleveland?
Pick: Nets +17
Though we don’t necessarily think the Nets are a better team without Thomas, they seem to be a bit more formful. Brooklyn learned how to be competitive without him during his long-term absence, with a more deliberate pace employed by Jordi Fernandez that worked again last night.
In regard to high-flying Cleveland and its 14-game win streak, tonight could be a flat spot, so Brooklyn intrigues. As also might the “under,” which barely lost last night vs. the Lake Show but was 13-2 in the preceding 15 games minus Thomas. In the second night of back-to-backs this season, the Nets are “under” 7-3. And they’re scoring only 99 points per game in the three previous meetings vs. the Cavs.
Pick: Under 227
By Kyle Murray
Mitchell has had some up-and-down 3-point production as of late. In a game that has one of the largest spreads of the season, it should be fairly safe to assume we are going to get a game with a high chance of a blowout. This is also a tough matchups since the Nets have allowed the 10th-fewest 3s per game this season.
