I can’t understand this line.
The Phillies are starting southpaw Jesus Luzardo on the mound, who is having an excellent season with advanced metrics that back up his performance.
Meanwhile, the Rays have been among the worst lineups against left-handed pitching this season, ranking 27th among MLB teams in wRC+ against the side (61). Luzardo should carve Tampa up.
Tampa Bay starting pitcher Ryan Pepiot had a good 2024 but regressed significantly in 2025. He could struggle against the Phillies, who rank among MLB’s top 10 lineups in wRC+ against right-handed pitching (110).
The Phillies should be at least -150 on the ML on Thursday, so I’ll happily gobble up the -135 available at BetMGM.
