The White Sox are obviously a very bad team. Their 14-30 record speaks for itself.

However, when it comes to striking out, they’re merely right around league average, even in many of the underlying metrics.

So this isn’t necessarily a plus matchup for Cortes in terms of strikeouts, and he’s only around league average in both strikeout rate and underlying strikeout metrics.

The White Sox may also have around seven right-handed batters in tonight’s lineup, which will lower Cortes’ expected strikeout rate.

I have Cortes around a coin-flip at 5.5, so I like the value we are getting here at 6.5, as I have a fair price on that at closer to -200.
