[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Diamondbacks F5 Moneyline (-120)” league=”mlb” awaylogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/ari.png” awayname=”Arizona Diamondbacks” awayslug=”arizona-diamondbacks” homelogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/nyyd.png” homename=”New York Yankees” homeslug=”new-york-yankees” date=”Tuesday, April 1″ time=”2:10 p.m. ET” network=”TBS” bookname=”BetMGM” bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/779359_BetMGM800x200@1x.png” bookreviewslug=”betmgm”][/gameheader]

By Dead President Picks

Tuesday night marks the Diamondbacks debut of Corbin Burnes, who signed a surprise deal with Arizona over the offseason. The former Cy Young winner went 15-9 last season with a 2.92 ERA and 1.09 WHIP.

Burnes has a tough task against an undefeated Yankees team that dropped 36 runs in a three-game sweep of the Brewers.

I’m riding Arizona in the first five innings (F5) of this matchup as Burnes is vastly superior to Yankees starter Will Warren. Burnes has dominated this Yankees lineup with a batting average against of just .210 in 100 at-bats.

Pick: Diamondbacks F5 Moneyline (-120)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Billy Ward’s Guardians vs Padres Best Bet: Model NRFI Pick”][/subheader]

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”No Runs First Inning (-113 to -125)” league=”mlb” awaylogo=”https://images.actionnetwork.com/blog/2023/08/2023-mlb-logo-cleveland-guardians.png” awayname=”Cleveland Guardians” awayslug=”cleveland-guardians” homelogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/sd.png” homename=”San Diego Padres” homeslug=”san-diego-padres” date=”Tuesday, April 1″ time=”9:40 p.m. ET” network=”MLB.TV” bookname=”BetRivers” bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/698811_BetRiver@1x.png” bookreviewslug=”betrivers”][/gameheader]

This is a very fair NRFI price on a game with a 7.5 run total that’s starting to get juiced to the under.

Padres starter Michael King had elite numbers the first time through the order last season, with a 2.33 ERA and a 2.69 xFIP.

Logan Allen’s numbers were less encouraging (to put it mildly), but he’s a southpaw, and the top of the Padres’ lineup was considerably worse against lefties last year.

Petco Park ranks 28th for overall scoring, which is considerably better than Allen’s home stadium of Progressive Field, which ranks 17th.

If you don’t have access to BetRivers, the next best line is at FanDuel (-120), while the widely available -125s are also fine.

Pick: No Runs First Inning (-113 to -125)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Charlie Wright’s Braves vs Dodgers Best Bet: Fade Sale?”][/subheader]

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Chris Sale Under 17.5 Pitching Outs (+135)” league=”mlb” awaylogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/atl.png” awayname=”Atlanta Braves” awayslug=”atlanta-braves” homelogo=”https://images.actionnetwork.com/blog/2023/08/2023-mlb-logo-los-angeles-dodgers.png” homename=”Los Angeles Dodgers” homeslug=”los-angeles-dodgers” date=”Tuesday, April 1″ time=”10:10 p.m. ET” network=”MLB.TV” bookname=”DraftKings ” bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/477013_DraftKings@1x.png” bookreviewslug=”draftkings”][/gameheader]

Chris Sale will be on regular rest in this outing, which is something that didn’t happen too often in 2024.

He had the standard four days of rest between starts just twice through July last season. As the Braves entered a tight postseason race, they ramped up Sale’s usage — six of his final nine starts were on regular rest. His performance didn’t waver, but he missed half of September and the postseason with a back injury.

The Dodgers were the toughest matchup in the league for left-handed pitchers last season. They ranked first or second in OPS, wOBA, wRC+, SLG, and ISO, and they also saw the fifth-most pitches per plate appearance.

Atlanta has leaned on long relievers Jesse Chavez and Jose Suarez over the past two days. The rest of the bullpen should be well-rested.

Pick: Chris Sale Under 17.5 Pitching Outs (+135)
