MLB Pick: Yankees vs. Phillies
With Zach Wheeler on the mound, the Phillies are more likely to win and that’s reflected in updated MLB odds.
However, the betting value appears to be with the Yankees.
After DraftKings opened New York at +130, sharps were quick to steam to Bronx Bombers, driving this number down to a consensus of +120 as of the time of writing.
Steam refers to sudden, uniform line movement across the market that is often the result of bettors with the resources and respect to move odds getting down on the same side of the same game at multiple sportsbooks, all at once.
In addition, Action Network’s MLB public betting data is reporting that the Yanks have landed 58% of the money wagered on the moneyline, but on just 17% of the tickets, providing another reason to conclude that the smart money is backing New York in this matchup.
