Edward Cabrera is our first custom NRFI selection today when he starts for the Miami Marlins against the New York Mets. This season, Cabrera has delivered an impressive 14–3 NRFI record, with a solid 6–1 home NRFI split. He has had success against Mets hitters in the past, including Francisco Lindor (1–10), Jeff McNeil (1–10), Daniel Vogelbach (0–5) and Pete Alonso (3–10).
Not only have key Mets hitters struggled against Cabrera, but they also have the worst road NRFI percentage (81%) in the majors. The Mets have failed to score in the first inning in seven of their last 10 games, and Alonso remains in a slump as he has just six hits in his last 30 at-bats.

Our second custom NRFI selection today features the Milwaukee Brewers’ Freddy Peralta. This season, Peralta boasts a strong NRFI record of 21–7, contributing to an overall NRFI record of 36–13 since 2022.
He has a favorable matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals today because the Cardinals have recorded just two hits in their last 27 first-inning at-bats. Peralta has had success in the past against key Cardinals hitters such as Willson Contreras (4-19) and Tommy Edman (5-20). Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that leadoff hitter Lars Nootbaar is currently struggling with only three hits in his last 21 at-bats.
