MLB Home Run Picks for August 10

[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Brent Rooker (+375)” subtext=”at Orioles (SP: LHP Cade Povich)” center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/oakd.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/859377_Bet365@1x.png” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]

I’m going hard on the A’s today, as Cade Povich has been an above-average matchup for power to both sides of the plate.

Povich owns a 1.34 HR/9 to lefties and a 1.48 HR/9 to righties. The ballpark is a great ballpark for lefty power and an average one for righties. The weather is a plus for hitting, with WeatherEdge showing an 18% boost to home runs.

Brent Rooker has been in better form since the All-Star Break, and I have the true odds for him around +300.

[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Mike Trout (+350)” subtext=”at Tigers (SP: LHP Casey Mize)” center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/laa.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/859377_Bet365@1x.png” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]

While Casey Mize has historically been an average matchup for righty power, he’s struggled heavily this season, allowing a 1.79 HR/9 on the year.

In Detroit, while the wind is blowing in, the temps are around 90 degrees, so the ball should still be flying well.

Mike Trout is one of the best home run hitters in the league, and I have his true odds around +300.

[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Riley Greene (+525)” subtext=”vs Angels (SP: RHP Jack Kochanowicz)” center=”false” logo1url=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/461059_det_n.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/859377_Bet365@1x.png” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]

Rolling with the Tigers‘ power lefties today, as Jack Kochanowicz has been absolutely crushed by lefty power this season, owning a massive 1.96 HR/9.

While he’s due for some positive regression, he grades out as an above-average matchup for lefty power.

Although the wind is blowing in, the weather is still good for hitting, with temps in the low 90s.

Riley Greene has been cold lately, but the power is still there, and I have the true odds for him around +400.

[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Pete Alonso (+475)” subtext=”at Brewers (SP: RHP Quinn Priester)” center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/nym.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/779359_BetMGM800x200@1x.png” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]

Quinn Priester is a solid pitcher, but he has struggled with righty power this season, giving up a 1.36 HR/9.

Pete Alonso has been in great form recently, with four bombs in the last eight games. I have the true odds over 100 points lower.
