Barstool to Launch New Sports Betting Platform, Will Shut Down for 72 Hours

Barstool Sportsbook informed users it will be migrating away from the sports wagering platform Kambi, according to a release to current users and first reported by Ryan Glasspiegel of the NY Post.

Barstool, which is operated by Penn National Gaming, utilized the Kambi sports betting platform since the release of its app. Kambi is one of the worldwide leaders for sports wagering odds.

“Over the last year, our team has been working hard to build a new and improved Barstool Sportsbook & Casino,” the release read. “Next week we will be launching the new Barstool Sportsbook & Casino, which is loaded with additional features to upgrade your betting experience.”

Some of the features mentioned in the release include faster load times, more player props, enhanced promotions and more integration with theScore app. Penn National bought the Canadian-based media company in 2022.

The move away from the Kambi platform has brought some excitement to everyday bettors. Barstool had the same odds as BetRivers and there were complaints about the hold percentages on some of the odds. Bettors will be hoping a new market brings new opportunities to place bets and shop for the best lines.

Bally Sports recently announced a partnership with Kambi last month.

In the release, Barstool informed users it will be temporarily shutting down operations beginning in the evening of July 9, which coincides with the MLB All-Star break.

Barstool expects to be back online within 72 hours.
