With this offer, you’ll get $100 in bonus funds for every $400 wagered on the platform. It’s the highest-value offer among any of the best horse racing platforms in the U.S. right now.

Where Is TwinSpires Available?

TwinSpires offers its horse racing product in 39 total states, including some of the most-populous ones in the U.S. — New York, California, Florida, Pennsylvania.

According to its own website, Twinspires does not operate in the following states — Alaska, Georgia, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Washington DC.

Many of those states don’t offer horse racing betting on any platform, while a state like New Jersey has its own dedicated platform called 4NJBets, which is powered by TVG.

2023 Black-Eyed Susan Odds

Faiza is the clear favorite entering the Black-Eyed Susan on Friday evening, listed at 7-5 on the morning line (that’s +140 in American odds, for trying to convert to something more familiar to sports betting).

The Bob Baffert-trained filly is perfect in five starts, with her last start coming in the Grade 2 Santa Anita Oaks on April 8. Four of her five wins have come in graded stakes races.

Post Horse Odds
1 Sacred Wish 10-1
2 Pate 20-1
3 Hoosier Philly 10-1
4 Merlazza 6-1
5 Frosty O Toole 15-1
6 Miracle 10-1
7 Comparative 12-1
8 Balpool 8-1
9 Faiza 7-5
10 Taxed 15-1
11 Cats Inthe Timber 30-1
12 Towhead 20-1

Our Mike Conti is going a different direction, with 10-1 shot Sacred Wish as his favorite bet and Taxed and Merlazza also candidates to hit the board. Here’s his explanation:

  • No. 1 Sacred Wish (10-1) ran second in the Gulfstream Park Oaks last time out. She was wide all the way around in that race. She looked green at the top of the stretch, with her head cocked, but finished with a good closing kick and galloped out well. She should appreciate the added distance and continue improving in only her fourth career start.
  • No. 10 Taxed (15-1) is one of the most experienced horses in the field. I’m willing to put a line through the Honeybee race due to the sloppy conditions. Her Beyer speed figures have continued to improve and she will be forwardly placed. If she can continue to improve, she should continue the trend of outrunning her odds with her running style.
  • No. 4 Merlazza (6-1) hasn’t missed the board in four career starts. She’s bred for the distance and has continued to show maturity from one start to the next. Her tactical speed and stalking style should benefit her. If she can continue her trend of improving, she will be in the thick of it coming for home. The only question with her is how will she run off Lasix for the first time.

Past Black-Eyed Susan Winners

The Black-Eyed Susan is the Preakness’s version of the Kentucky Oaks, featuring the best 3-year-old fillies in the country. Pretty Mischievous won the 2023 Kentucky Oaks, but the “filly Triple Crown” doesn’t carry much weight, so she won’t run in Friday’s Black-Eyed Susan.
