Masters Weather Forecast: Wind Impacts Second-Round Play

When The Masters suspended play on Thursday due to a high wind advisory and thunderstorms, it marked the sixth consecutive year inclement weather delayed golf’s most prestigious tournament.

Play at Augusta National Golf Club has continued uninterrupted since resuming on Thursday, however strong winds have continued to impact performance with the second round nearing its conclusion.

Jason Day caught a face full of sand from the bunker on the 18th hole due to the high wind gusts.

Gary Woodland’s has a relatively short putt on the 16th hold to save par before ball took an unfortunate roll thanks to the windy conditions.

 

Below is an update on the latest Masters weather forecast for the weekend.

Masters Weather Forecast

A wind advisory is currently in effect at Augusta. It ends at 8 p.m. ET Friday, which means wind will impact all second-round play. Winds are expected to blow west at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph.

Conditions are clear following a thunderstorm earlier in the week. Saturday and Sunday are still expected to be mostly sunny with highs of 77 and 86 degrees, respectively.

According to bet365, Scottie Scheffler is the Masters favorite at +150, followed by Bryson DeChambeau (+350), Max Homa (+500), Collin Morikawa (+1600), and Ludvig Aberg (+2000).
