The 2025 Travelers Championship tees off on Thursday morning from TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn., for the PGA Tour’s final Signature Event of the season.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads a field that includes every one of the top 10 in the golf rankings and 45 of the top 50, and he’s once again the favorite at +280 odds at DraftKings. Behind him is Rory McIlroy at +1200, while Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele come in as the only other players shorter than 20-1 odds at +1600 each.
The field also includes J.J. Spaun, fresh off his stunning win at the U.S. Open. Spaun’s odds to go back-to-back with a win at the Travelers Championship are +4500.

Sepp Straka has played himself into a new tier of players in terms of where he is regularly priced in the market, but this is a great spot for him as well.
Straka is inside the top 15 in birdie or better% and total strokes gained when looking at short and easy courses, and his strong accuracy off-the-tee should be helpful here as well.

We backed Keegan Bradley last week in the U.S. Open but he finished outside the top 30 thanks to a poor week with this irons, which is not something I would expect from him very often. That should be something that he can get right quickly as he ranks inside the top 15 in Strokes Gained: Approach in this field.
He has now gained strokes putting in back-to-back events, and he also ranks 5th in SG: Tee-to-Green in this field over the last six months.
His accurate ball-striking should give him a significant advantage here, so he should be able to give himself plenty of looks at birdie. If he can get hot on the greens and convert those chances, he should be able to contend here.

Candidly, Sam Burns is almost the exact opposite of the typical golfer I normally find myself betting on. I usually chase the elite ball-strikers in hopes they find variance on the greens working in their direction, as I typically think that is the most predictable prototype.
However, Burns is pretty clearly the best putter in this field and maybe even in the world right now, but in addition to that he has now gained strokes ball-striking in three straight events as well.
We all saw how unlucky he got at Oakmont on Sunday not getting relief on that approach shot, but I am expecting him to carry over that strong form into an environment that has favored him in the past, as Burns has been a top-5 scorer at TPC courses over the last two years.

Russell Henley can be a very frustrating player to bet on, but I do like him a good deal in this event.
Henley is an elite player, but he doesn’t get enough credit for doing all of the things as well as he does despite lacking the elite distance.
Henley ranks 71st out of 72 golfers in driving distance in this field, but he is extremely accurate and a great putter. That should make him a great fit for this course as TPC River Highlands is a short course where accuracy is very crucial.

Akshay Bhatia checks a lot of boxes for me this week despite coming off of a missed cut at the U.S. Open. He is another player who has his game elevated by a short and easy course, as he ranks inside the Top 10 in SG: Ball-striking at short and easy courses over the last two years.
Additionally, his putter has continued to improve, as he ranks 11th in SG: Putting in this field over the last six months.
Bhatia finished T5 here last year, and I am expecting a big week from him here again.

Bud Cauley had a real rough Friday at Oakmont, causing him to miss the cut after his even par opening round. However, this kind of course and event are much more appealing for a player like Cauley, who can score in bunches and is an accurate ball-striker.
The course muting distance advantages will work in Cauley’s favor and everything else in his ball-striking looks really solid.
