College Football Odds: Sharp Spread Picks for Week 0, Week 1

College football spreads in Week 0 and Week 1 tend to attract market-moving action earlier and earlier as the betting space becomes more competitive.

Roughly a month out from the college football regular season, NCAAF PRO Report is lighting up with key line movement.

We’ll dive into spread picks our database flagged with sharp action for both Week 0 and Week 1 on these college football games:

  • Stanford vs. Hawaii
  • Colorado State vs. Washington
  • North Carolina vs. TCU

Once limits increase and the season gets closer, Bet Labs will be tracking not only which sides and totals are receiving big bets, but at which sportsbook, the time and more.

For now, PRO Report shows these college football spread picks receiving line-moving bets for Week 0 and Week 1.

College Football Odds: 3 Smart Spread Picks

First on the PRO Report docket is a Week 0 game between Stanford and Hawaii, two programs on downward trajectories.

Stanford enters at -1.5 with an over/under of 55 points. PRO Report’s early sharp money indicator is active on Hawaii against the spread, with the point spread down from -2.5.

Though he was beloved on the island (and fed families for over bettors) during his Hawaii playing days, head coach Timmy Chang has yet to prove his worth from the sidelines.

The Rainbow Warriors have a tough schedule this year. They draw Arizona from the Big 12 in Week 1 and several well-coached Mountain West opponents thereafter.

Hawaii’s chances to make an impact may be limited, but it gets a favorable draw here hosting a struggling Stanford team, considered the weakest in the ACC.

There’s certainly betting interest on Hawaii at open.

PRO Report Pick: Hawaii ATS

[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”Colorado State vs. Washington” subtext=”Week 1 · Saturday, Aug. 30″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/csu.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/was.png” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]

Switching gears to Colorado State vs. Washington, PRO tracked sharp moves on Washington, taking the spread from -18.5 to -19.5.

The Huskies, guided by head coach Jedd Fisch, have the potential to score a ton of points thanks to dual-threat quarterback Demond Williams Jr. and wide receiver Denzel Boston.

Williams is a legitimate Heisman candidate in the lens of our own Mike Calabrese, and this could be the opening statement.

PRO Report Pick: Washington ATS

[subheader sizedown=”true” text=”North Carolina vs. TCU” subtext=”Week 1 · Monday, Sept. 1″ center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/nc.png” link1=”” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/ncaaf/100/tcud.png” link2=”” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]

Finally, TCU faces UNC at Kenan Stadium, with line movement from TCU -2.5 to -3. Sharp bettors are backing the favored Horned Frogs.

Our own Collin Wilson rates TCU significantly higher with an 86.7 power rating (No. 21) compared to North Carolina’s 68 (No. 74).

UNC is transitioning to the Bill Belichick era, while TCU head coach Sonny Dykes returns an offense headlined by Josh Hoover, who quietly ranks second in passing yards for returning QBs (3,949) from last year — behind only LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier.

PRO Report Pick: TCU ATS
