This is a tremendous spot for the Blue Jays.
They rank in the top four in MLB in OPS, wOBA and wRC+ against right-handed pitching over the past 30 days. They face an extremely vulnerable righty in the Athletics‘ Luis Severino.
Since the start of June, Severino has given up 33 earned runs in 37 innings. He has an ERA over 7.00 at home and he’ll be relieved by a bullpen with the second-highest ERA in the league.
The weather is also a big bump to offense.
Meteorologist Kevin Roth had this to say about the hitting environment: “Hot with winds blowing out at 5-10mph in the kiddie park — very good hitting weather.”
