This is some significant juice to eat, but this number should likely be sitting at 5.5 strikeouts, as we have Jesus Luzardo projected for 4.72 strikeouts in our numbers at RotoGrinders.

Luzardo might have some added motivation in this matchup against his former team, but that doesn’t change the bad projection for him compared to his line. Luzardo has some big strikeout numbers this season, but when you look at the splits, he is getting much of that done against lefties. Since the start of last season, Luzardo has struck out 38% of lefties, but that number drops all the way down to 21% against righties. The Marlins’ projected lineup has nine righties, which sets up poorly for Luzardo’s strikeout production.

I usually don’t enjoy betting on these really low strikeout props for starters, but Antonio Senzatela’s strikeout upside is so extremely low that him getting three strikeouts appears unlikely.

He’s had exactly two strikeouts in each of his past three appearances, but the best part about this play is the matchup. Senzatela has just a 7.6% strikeout rate against lefties since the start of last season, and the Nationals’ projected lineup features seven lefties.

I’m going to target Brandon Pfaadt, who is having one of the worst seasons of any starting pitcher in the league. He has allowed the highest hard-hit percentage of any of the 107 pitchers with at least 60 innings pitched, the ninth-highest ERA and the highest expected ERA.

He has also allowed at least three runs in six of his past eight starts and is giving it up to both sides of the plate. The Blue Jays should be able to get plenty of offense going against him here at home after a long road trip.

There is a value opportunity on Andrew Abbott’s pitching outs prop. THE BAT X is projecting him to record 15.90 pitching outs, while oddsmakers are implying 19.02. The model believes there is a 84% chance he records fewer than 19 pitching outs, so there is value on the under at -170.

Fernando Tatis Jr. is having a really nice June, hitting .327 with multi-hit games in four straight contests. The Dodgers look like they are going with an opener before Matt Sauer takes over and got obliterated by this same Padres offense in his last start.

Sauer had to stay out there to eat innings even though he was getting pummeled, and that could happen again tonight after the Dodgers used seven different pitchers yesterday. At even money, this is just too good to pass on.
