We have a few ways we can win this one.

First, it’s Patrick Corbin and a 4.5 strikeout line. Second, we have the fact that all of Corbin’s high-strikeout games have come against weak teams that you would expect a mediocre pitcher to have spike games in. Third, we have what should be an all right-handed lineup against him, which is a big plus, as Corbin has just a 16% strikeout rate against righties this season. We also have some rain in the area, which could cause an in-game delay that could force Corbin out if the delay is long enough.

There is a lot of juice here, but if I was a sportsbook, I wouldn’t even be giving a 4.5 line. I’d only have this available at 3.5 as a main line. Corbin has five total strikeouts over his past two starts (both against good offenses), and I’m betting on his lower strikeout numbers showing up yet again today.

This system targets divisional underdogs in regular-season MLB games that receive low public support, but show signs of sharp action or value.

These ‘dogs have moneyline support from less than 30% of bettors, yet still experience little or no negative line movement, suggesting that smart money is holding the line. Additionally, these bets occur in division games, where familiarity and tighter matchups often reduce the gap between the underdog and the favorite. The bet count is also modestly above average, further hinting at targeted action rather than mass public overreaction.

This system is 8-8 with a 12% ROI this season and 936-1177-0 (44%) with an 8% ROI lifetime. Remember, this system bets on underdogs. So, although the record is sub.-500, the ROI, the only thing that matters, is positive.

Jacob Misiorowski is set to make his MLB debut as one of the Brewers’ top prospects. Misiorowski has electric stuff — including a fastball that tops out at 103 mph — that has led to him having a strikeout rate north of 30% throughout his minor-league career.

This isn’t necessarily an elite strikeout matchup, but Misiorowski projects to have plenty of his own strikeout upside.
