Liverpool (+550) is currently the frontrunner to win the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League, but the odds have Real Madrid (+650) close behind, even ahead of the reigning champions, PSG (+700), and runner-up Inter Milan (+2200).

I understand that Real Madrid, the “King of Europe”, is always a contender in the UCL and the arrival of Xabi Alonso brings renewed excitement, but I still believe there’s a lot of work to be done in Madrid before they can truly be considered a top contender for the next Champions League.

In the Premier League, Liverpool comfortably won the league, finishing 10 points ahead of Arsenal (+700), and the odds for the upcoming UEFA Champions League reflect that dominance. Arne Slot has shown he has a strong squad with top-quality players across all positions. Still, the German manager continues to strengthen the team and has already added Bayer Leverkusen’s right back, Jeremie Frimpong, to the roster.

On the other hand, I must admit I’m surprised to see Manchester City (+800) ranked above teams like Bayern Munich (+900) and Barcelona (+800) despite their inconsistencies throughout the season. Pep Guardiola was very direct a few weeks ago in stating that the squad needs major changes, so we can expect several departures in the upcoming months.

Another serious contender that shouldn’t be overlooked is Napoli (+2500). While they’re relatively low in the 2025-26 odds, Antonio Conte’s side just clinched another Scudetto in Serie A and are already close to securing their first major signing. In my opinion, the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne will significantly boost Gli Azzurri’s attacking power.

It’s worth noting that these odds are expected to shift significantly due to two key factors between now and the start of next season — the summer transfer window and the results of the FIFA Club World Cup.
