Even though he did not win a title this year, Lorenzo Musetti had a great clay season. He lost the Monte-Carlo final to Carlos Alcaraz, then the Madrid semifinal to Jack Draper and then another semifinal in Rome, again to Alcaraz.

Musetti is currently World No. 7 but is fourth in the clay EloRatings rankings with a 64.9 winning percentage on this surface. His 2025 record on clay is 14-3, and we just went through the list of who he lost to.

Having reached the fourth round in 2021, this will be his career performance at the French Open if he advances. So far, the Italian has been really solid in Paris, losing only the first set of his third-round match against Mariano Navone.

With a well-rounded game and a good serve, Musetti has earned the title of favorite in this match, even though his opponent, Holger Rune, prevails in the head-to-head.

Rune won both times they met, one on the hard court and the other on the grass. The Dane did not last long in three of the four clay tournaments he played in preparation for Roland Garros, but he won the one he did — the ATP 500 in Barcelona, where he defeated Alcaraz in the final.

Rune has struggled a bit more this week, losing a set to Roberto Bautista Agut and needing to win the last two against Quentin Halys to advance to this round.

They are both great clay players, but Musetti likely takes this one, given his performance in Paris.

Pick: Musetti -4.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

Despite a lackluster clay season, Frances Tiafoe has proven his skills on this surface in Paris this week, already achieving his best career performance at the French Open.

Tiafoe, who only made it to the second round last year and had only gone as far as the third round (2023), only needed three sets to take out all of his rivals thus far.

He defeated Roman Safiullin 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 in the first round and Pablo Carreño Busta 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 in the second round. On Friday, Tiafoe battled fellow American Sebastian Korda, and after prevailing in a tough first-set tiebreak 7-6(6), he won 6-3 and 6-4 the other two.

Tiafoe will try to push the tempo with his forehand and will have nine aces under his sleeve since he has hit this exact amount in every match this week at the French Open.

Daniel Altmaier won’t mind being the underdog again. He already provided one of the first surprises by beating fourth-seed Taylor Fritz in the first round.

The German needed four sets in every match to win, so stamina might be an issue if this match goes the distance. Altmaier also has experience at this stage since he reached the fourth round at the 2020 French Open, having qualified all the way from the qualifying phase.

Tiafoe dominates 2-0 in their head-to-head record, last beating Altmaier at the 2023 Masters in Rome.

Pick: Tiafoe -3.5 | Over 38.5 Parlay (+338 via DraftKings)
