By Joe Dellera
All eyes will be on Luka Doncic in his return to Dallas tonight in what will be an emotionally charged game. However, I’m targeting Austin Reaves.
The Mavericks sent extra help at Luka when these teams played last time these teams played, and it opened things up for his teammates. This is a must-win game for seeding regardless of the emotional aspect of this game.
Reaves has been incredible for the Lakers. He has hit this in 71% of his games with Luka this season, and is averaging 21.3 points and 4.8 assists in those games. This line is simply too low.
Reaves could clear this mark with points alone, but I’ll tack on the assists in case he gets some easy ones to Luka.
Additionally, the Mavericks have played at the seventh-fastest pace in the league over their last 15 games, so this is a bit of a pace-up spot as well.
Pick: Austin Reaves Over 23.5 Points + Assists (-120)

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Josh Giddey Over 35.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)” league=”nba” awaylogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/nba/100/mia.png” awayname=”Miami Heat” awayslug=”miami-heat” homelogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/nba/100/chi.png” homename=”Chicago Bulls” homeslug=”chicago-bulls” date=”Wednesday, April 9″ time=”8 p.m. ET” network=”NBA League Pass” bookname=”DraftKings ” bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/477013_DraftKings@1x.png” bookreviewslug=”draftkings”][/gameheader]
Josh Giddey has gone over this line in six of his last eight outings, in three straight, and in back to back games against the Miami Heat.
He’s hurt the Heat in numerous ways offensively, particularly as a scorer.
This season, Giddey has shot nearly 60 percent from the field against the Heat, while hitting 5-of-9 from three-point range, accumulating 36 and 48 PRA in consecutive contests opposite of Miami.
The Heat struggle to contain big guards who can create, especially when their shot is falling, and Giddey’s has against them this season.
Pick: Josh Giddey Over 35.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)

Justin Champagnie has seen an expanded role for the Wizards lately.
The former Pitt standout logged a season-high 31.3 minutes in April and has averaged 12.8 points per game over that span.
Our Action Pro Report projects 14.2 points from Champagnie tonight.
Pick: Justin Champagnie Over 10.5 Points (-130)

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Devin Booker Under 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-125)” league=”nba” awaylogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/nba/100/okc.png” awayname=”Oklahoma City Thunder” awayslug=”oklahoma-city-thunder” homelogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/875040_Suns.png” homename=”Phoenix Suns” homeslug=”phoenix-suns” date=”Wednesday, April 9″ time=”10 p.m. ET” network=”NBA League Pass” bookname=”bet365″ bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/859377_Bet365@1x.png” bookreviewslug=”bet365″][/gameheader]
After Sunday’s 126-99 loss to the Lakers, OKC returned the favor by defeating Los Angeles 136-120 on Tuesday night. The Thunder will now head to Phoenix to face the Suns as both teams take the court for the second time in as many days. Therefore, OKC may rest some players, considering it has already locked up the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.
If we turn to the Suns, they’re just playing out the string to bring an end to this disastrous season. Despite assembling a Big Three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, the Suns will likely miss the postseason altogether as they trail the Mavericks by three games for the final play-in spot. Phoenix enters the contest on a seven-game losing streak, and it’s winless in five previous meetings against the Thunder.
Even if OKC decides to rest some key players, the defensive integrity should remain consistent for the league leaders in points allowed per 100 possessions (106.7). One reason for the Thunder’s defensive success is their aggressiveness in guarding the perimeter. OKC has the best opponent 3-point field goal percentage (34.6%) partly because it also contests the most shots (19.1).
A lack of open looks can certainly impact some players to change their approach. Booker is one player who comes to mind because despite averaging 6.0 3-point attempts throughout his career, he’s down to just 1.7 in his last three meetings against the Thunder.
Booker has a 3-point field goal prop of 2.5—a number he cleared only once in eight of his last nine games while shooting 18% from the perimeter. If his confidence is already a bit down, the last team he’d want to come up against is the Thunder and their stingy perimeter defense. As a result, this situational spot warrants some strong consideration for the under, and we’re getting a decent price with odds at -125.
Pick: Devin Booker Under 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-125)
