It looks like the Phillies are teeing off on the Nats pitching this weekend and are on the verge of a sweep in this D.C. series.

On Saturday, it was 11 runs after churning out another seven in the opener, as the Washington bullpen was battered. Kyle Schwarber, Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh all homered on Saturday as Philly pounded out 14 hits. More good news could be in the offing on Sunday with starter Aaron Nola, who was 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA in four starts vs. the Nats a year ago, including a pair of wins in Washington.

This looks a tough ask for Nats starter Mitchell Parker, who was destroyed at Citizens Bank Park last August 15, allowing 9 runs and 10 hits before being chased after three innings in a 13-3 Phils romp. Play Phillies on the Run Line.

Pick: Phillies -1.5 (+105)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Nick Galaida’s Giants vs Reds Best Bet: Back Robbie Ray”][/subheader]

San Francisco is well-positioned to earn a series victory on Sunday in Cincinnati. Robbie Ray added a changeup this past offseason, which looked great in Spring Training and gives him the ability to attack both sides of the plate against RHB — something he was unable to do in 2024 with only a 2-pitch fastball/slider mix. He’s likely the better starting pitcher in this game. Having a LHP on the mound also flips Elly De La Cruz to his less productive side of the plate, which weakens the top of the Reds lineup.

The Giants also have a more rested arm barn this afternoon. They haven’t used any of their high-leverage options since Opening Day on Thursday, whereas the Reds would be asking Emilio Pagan and Tony Santillan to make their third appearance in four days to begin the season if used on Sunday.

This is a good price to back Ray and the Giants here.

Pick: Giants Moneyline (-118)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Nick Galaida’s Red Sox vs Rangers Best Bet: Don’t Trust the Texas Bullpen”][/subheader]

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Red Sox Moneyline (+166)” league=”mlb” awaylogo=”https://images.actionnetwork.com/blog/2023/08/2023-mlb-logo-boston-red-sox.png” awayname=”Boston Red Sox” awayslug=”boston-red-sox” homelogo=”https://images.actionnetwork.com/blog/2023/08/2023-mlb-logo-texas-rangers.png” homename=”Texas Rangers” homeslug=”texas-rangers” date=”Sunday, March 30″ time=”2:35 p.m. ET” network=”MLB.TV” bookname=”FanDuel” bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/122955_FanDuelSportsBook@1x.jpg” bookreviewslug=”fanduel”][/gameheader]

Jacob deGrom is one of the most talented pitchers of all time, but he’s not fully stretched out yet for 2025. His mechanics have been slightly off during Spring Training, leading to some more traffic on the basepaths than we are accustomed to when he’s pitching.

Behind him, the Rangers‘ arm barn is in poor shape, having used Luke Jackson, Chris Martin, Robert Garcia, Jacob Webb, Hoby Milner and Shawn Armstrong in two of the last three days.

The Red Sox offense should have every opportunity to make this a competitive game on Sunday.

Pick: Red Sox Moneyline (+166)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Bruce Marshall’s Athletics vs Mariners Best Bet: Seattle Offensive Woes”][/subheader]

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Under 7.5 (-120)” league=”mlb” awaylogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/oakd.png” awayname=”Oakland Athletics” awayslug=”oakland-athletics” homelogo=”https://images.actionnetwork.com/blog/2023/08/2023-mlb-logo-seattle-mariners.png” homename=”Seattle Mariners” homeslug=”seattle-mariners” date=”Sunday, March 30″ time=”4:10 p.m. ET” network=”MLB.TV” bookname=”FanDuel” bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/122955_FanDuelSportsBook@1x.jpg” bookreviewslug=”fanduel”][/gameheader]

Time for fake beards and mustaches for the Seattle hitters?

Why? Over the past three nights vs. the Athletics, they’ve only scored six runs, and against A’s starting pitchers, they’ve only scored once (across 17 innings). This follows last season when the Mariners offense often went into funks, suggesting that maybe the offseason didn’t cure those woes.

None of the first three games in this series has cleared seven runs, and we’re not sure the A’s do a lot of business today against Bryan Woo, either, who posted a 2.49 ERA in ten starts at T-Mobile park last season, and only allowed 2 ER in 20 1/3 IP (0.89 ERA) vs. the A’s last season.

Now, can JP Sears keep the Seattle bats off-balance on Sunday? Play A’s-Mariners “Under”.

Pick: Under 7.5 (-120)

[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Derek Carty’s Braves vs Padres Best Bet: Trust Pivetta’s Control”][/subheader]

[gameheader haspick=”true” picktext=”Nick Pivetta Under 1.5 Walks Allowed (+145)” league=”mlb” awaylogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/atl.png” awayname=”Atlanta Braves” awayslug=”atlanta-braves” homelogo=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/mlb/100/sd.png” homename=”San Diego Padres” homeslug=”san-diego-padres” date=”Sunday, March 30″ time=”7:10 p.m. ET” network=”ESPN” bookname=”bet365″ bookprimarylogo=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/859377_Bet365@1x.png” bookreviewslug=”bet365″][/gameheader]

By Derek Carty

THE BAT X is forecasting 1.47 walks allowed for Pivetta compared to 1.87 walks allowed implied by the oddsmakers, so I believe there is value here.

If you take the under, you’d be projected to win 56% of the time, resulting in a 35% ROI. Based on a $100 wager, the expected value here would be $34.69.

Pick: Nick Pivetta Under 1.5 Walks Allowed (+145)
