The NFC North has been the class of the NFC this season, and its top two teams, the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions, will meet in the final game of the regular season on Sunday Night Football to determine who will take home the division crown.
While both teams are locked into the playoffs, the NFC North champion will be the No. 1 seed, which means they will get a first-round bye. Meanwhile, the loser of this matchup will be the No. 5 seed and play on Wild Card weekend on the road.
With the stage set, let’s dive into my Vikings vs. Lions props for SNF, which feature Jahmyr Gibbs, Jordan Addison, and Sam Darnold.
Vikings vs. Lions Player Props

With David Montgomery sidelined, Jahmyr Gibbs has taken on the bell-cow role in the Lions backfield. He has rushed for 226 yards on 41 carries over the last two games.
However, he has a tough matchup in front of him against the Vikings, who rank third in yards per rush allowed and eighth in yards allowed before contact.
In addition to the matchup, the potential game script does not favor Gibbs reaching his listed 18-carry mark. Minnesota will be live in this matchup and could very well be leading late, which will take away work from Gibbs. He’ll be needed in the passing game instead of icing a win with runs.
[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Jordan Addison Anytime Touchdown (+140)” subtext=”” center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/nfl/100/min.png” link1=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/nfl/odds/minnesota-vikings” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/364880_Draftkings.png” link2=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/online-sports-betting/reviews/draftkings” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
The Vikings have a clear edge over the Lions’ secondary as Detroit ranks 24th in passing yards allowed and 27th in sack rate. That means there shouldn’t be much pressure on Sam Darnold, which should give his receivers time to make big plays down the field.
Jordan Addison is the clear beneficiary of this mismatch. Addison has become a weapon in the Vikings offense as he’s thrived opposite Justin Jefferson. Addison has scored in six of his last 10 games, and he’s not just a big-play threat.
Over his last six games, Addison has drawn at least one red-zone target and has accounted for 26% of the Vikings’ red-zone targets this season.
Look for Addison to find paydirt again with the Lions doing everything they can to contain Jefferson.
[subheader sizedown=”false” text=”Sam Darnold Under 14.5 Rushing Yards (-115)” subtext=”” center=”false” logo1url=”https://static.sprtactn.co/teamlogos/nfl/100/min.png” link1=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/nfl/odds/minnesota-vikings” link1follow=”true” logo2url=”https://assets.actionnetwork.com/364880_Draftkings.png” link2=”https://www.actionnetwork.com/online-sports-betting/reviews/draftkings” link2follow=”true” trailinglogourl=”” trailinglink=”” trailinglinkfollow=”true”][/subheader]
Building off the Vikings’ edge in their passing attack, the lack of pressure generated by the Lions’ defense will take away the need for Sam Darnold to scramble.
Darnold has only scrambled 26 times this season, an average of 1.6 per game. He’s also only averaged 13.2 scramble yards per game.
However, his rushing production has not been consistent, as he’s gone under this total in 10 of 16 games this season.
While his best-rushing performance of the season came against the Lions, we should see Detroit keep Darnold contained in the pocket if it can’t put pressure on him.
