MLB All-Star Game Market Report: How Public is Betting Mid-Summer Classic

Need to get some action on the 2024 MLB All-Star Game?

Let’s take a look at how the public is betting Tuesday night’s showcase.

Both the American League and National League are getting about equal interest. The AL is favored on the moneyline (-120) and getting 48% of the bets, accounting for 44% of the handle at BetMGM.

The under is getting some money. The total opened at 8 and is now 7.5 at BetMGM. The line movement is likely due to the under getting 51% of the bets and 60% of the handle.

For those interested in betting on the All-Star Game MVP, Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes is the biggest liability for BetMGM. Skenes opened +3500 to win MVP and is now +2800. Skenes is getting 11.7% of the tickets and accounts for a whopping 21.6% of the money.

Shohei Ohtani is also a liability for BetMGM — he is getting the most bets of any player at 12.7% and the second-most handle at 13.2%.

Props can be a fun way to get in on the action of the All-Star Game.

Here are the five most popular props for Tuesday night’s festivities, per BetMGM:

  1. No run scored in 1st inning (-140)
  2. Shohei Ohtani to hit a home run (+450)
  3. Aaron Judge to hit a home run (+500)
  4. National League over 3.5 runs (-110)
  5. Paul Skenes to have 2+ strikeouts (+135)

First pitch for the mid-summer classic is set for 8 p.m. ET and it will be televised on FOX. It should be a fun night in Houston.
