Wimbledon 2024 Odds: Iga Swiatek Exit Leads to Wide Open Women’s Side

The No. 1 women’s player in the world has been ousted in the third round.

Iga Swiatek was stunned by Yulia Putintseva in three sets during the third round of Wimbledon 2024. Putintseva, the world’s No. 35 ranked tennis player, has now won eight straight matches. It will be her first round of 16 appearance since the 2020 U.S. Open.

Swiatek’s odds to win Wimbledon were +350 before the third round. Putintseva was +20000 to win it all before the match against Swiatek, she is now +2000 after the win.

Putintseva will face Jelena Ostapenko in the round of 16.

Ons Jabeur, the runner-up the last two years, was defeated by Elina Svitolina in straight sets.

The men’s side had no major surprises on Saturday as Novak Djokovic cruised to a 3-1 victory over Alexei Popyrin and Taylor Fritz beat Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets.
