Whether the forecast shows high winds or cold temperatures, there are a number of variables that can either strengthen or weaken an offense and help or hurt a pitching staff.
Every day, we’re keeping an eye on the weather forecasts around MLB, and when the weather makes a difference in our betting for the day, we’re here to share our best bet based on the weather forecasts.

While there are plenty of games today with generally bad weather (rain, storms, etc.), there are also a handful of games with legitimately good weather — at least as it pertains to hitting.
At the top of the list is the Los Angeles Dodgers at the New York Mets in a doubleheader today. Both games are seeing prime hitting weather.
I slightly prefer the weather for Game 1 of the doubleheader, with a temperature in the mid-80s and winds blowing out to right field at a whopping 20 mph. However, Game 2 is nearly just as good with an 80-degree temperature and winds blowing out around 15 mph.
Officially, my favorite weather bet of the day is over 7.5 runs at ESPN BET in Game 1 of the Dodgers/Mets doubleheader. ESPN BET is currently the only book with a total of 7.5, but if it moves to 8 or you don’t have access to ESPN BET, I’d still be OK betting it there.

A few fast-moving spotty downpours are popping up today. I think it’s more likely than not that they avoid a delay here, but it’s certainly possible.

This is basically the same forecast as Baltimore. There are a few downpours around. One zipping over the ballpark is possible, though not the most likely outcome.

Scattered storms look fairly widespread at first pitch. They will eventually simmer down into showers, but that could still give us 3-4 hours of rain if things go poorly.
Conversely, maybe we see a repeat of Minnesota and they somehow dodge everything, but I doubt it. Let’s see how radar looks at first pitch, but my best guess is a late start or a postponement.
